Our journey eventually moved beyond the local market.
In 2020, we began selling on eBay, which became our starting point in international business. This was a major step for us. Suddenly, we were not only serving customers in Nepal — people from different parts of the world were discovering our products.
Today, we serve customers in the USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Europe, and many other international destinations. Growing internationally has taught us that distance does not have to separate people from craftsmanship.
A product made in Nepal can carry a story all the way across the world.
Growing Through Customer Stories
When we started, our focus was mainly on traditional kukri. But as our customer base grew, something interesting happened. Customers began asking for something more personal. They wanted custom kukri made for special occasions, meaningful gifts, family members, friends, and loved ones. Some wanted names, dates, messages, or personal words engraved onto their kukri.
We listened. Today, personalization has become an important part of what we do. A traditional kukri can be meaningful on its own. But when it carries a personal message chosen specifically for someone, it becomes something different — a gift connected to a memory, a relationship, or an important moment.
For us, these requests have helped shape Kathmandu Forge into what it is today.

Kathmandu Forge has grown from a local business into an international online store, but our core values remain the same. We still believe in craftsmanship over mass production. We still believe that a handmade product should have character.
